MY LAND WAS DESTROYED

“The battle lasted for hours … I felt exhausted.

I stood there in silence, wounded.
I struggled to get up on my feet, using my sword as a prop, but in vain. I was motionless. My legs did not obey.

I could smell blood in the air, my comrades were all gasping and couldn’t breathe, the horses were whining trying to get up….

I took a tired look in my castle. It was captured. My kingdom, once ruled by honorable men, now captured by barbarians. My land was destroyed…and I couldn’t do nothing about it ! We fought hard, but the enemy caught us by surprise !

What happened ? What went wrong ? What …. (wheezes) “
The thoughts were spinning in his mind until the first sunbeams penetrated the clouds … a sign of a new day to come.
